«Il sistema della logica è il regno delle ombre […]. Lo studio di questa scienza, la dimora e il lavoro in questo regno delle ombre, è l’assoluta educazione e disciplina della coscienza». Così scrive Hegel nell’Introduzione alla Scienza della logica. Ma la struttura e l’articolazione dell’opera, su cui Hegel ritornerà di continuo, presenta una lunga e complessa gestazione. Di questa gestazione il vero laboratorio può essere senz’altro considerato il periodo jenese. Il presente saggio cerca di ricostruire come Hegel maturi la genesi del suo impianto logico muovendo dalla polemica contro le filosofie della riflessione. Proprio questa critica lo porterà a distinguere tra una riflessione come intelletto e una riflessione come ragione. La prima il cui apporto speculativo sarà soltanto un apporto esteriore, una nostra riflessione; la seconda immanente al processo, cioè una riflessione assoluta. Sebbene a Jena Logica e Metafisica siano ancora distinte, la Logica può essere pertanto letta come un approssimarsi continuo di queste due riflessioni, che però si realizzerà soltanto nella metafisica, in cui la riflessione porrà a oggetto sé stessa.

«The system of logic is the realm of shadows […]. The study of this science, the dwelling and working in this realm of shadows, is the absolute education and discipline of consciousness». This is what Hegel writes in the Introduction to the Science of Logic. But the structure and articulation of the work, to which Hegel will return again and again, has a long and complex gestation. The real laboratory of this gestation can undoubtedly be considered the Jena period. The present essay seeks to reconstruct how Hegel matures the genesis of his logical framework by moving from the polemic against the philosophies of reflection. It is this very critique that will lead him to distinguish between reflection as intellect and reflection as reason. The former of which the speculative contribution will be only an external one, our reflection; the latter immanent to the process, that is, an absolute reflection. Although in Jena Logic and Metaphysics are still distinct, Logic can therefore be read as a continuous approximation of these two reflections, which, however, will be achieved only in metaphysics, in which reflection will set itself as its object.
